HURLEY - The Iron County Board of Supervisors voted to authorize the county to accept a settlement agreement with the Kroger Company related to the opioid crisis. The resolution included an agreement to the terms of the settlement and an addendum connected to a memo of understanding regarding the proceeds. A new account will be established at Chippewa Valley Bank in Hurley to accept the proceeds of the settlement. Cally Bucknell of the county Human Services Department said the Kroger settlement is only one of a number of companies that will be offering settlements due to the opioid crisis.
