DETROIT (AP) — Starting in 2025, waiting staff, bartenders, and other tipped workers will begin to see their wages gradually rise over five years due to Wednesday’s Michigan Supreme Court Decision. The Michigan Supreme Court has overruled the Legislature and reinstated major changes to the state’s minimum wage and sick leave laws. It's a victory for low-wage workers and especially people paid with tips. The court ruled 4-3 those Republican lawmakers violated the state constitution. Currently, Michigan’s minimum wage is $10.33 per hour.
