HOUGHTON - A Superior man died while scuba diving at a shipwreck in Isle Royale National Park on Thursday.  According to the National Park Service, 70-year-old John Nousaine, was diving near the stern section of the Emperor shipwreck in Lake Superior.  At depths of 100 to 150 feet when something went wrong.  Keweenaw County Sheriff, Medical Examiner, and National Park Service were on scene.  The investigation continues

MADISON - Wisconsin Republicans are asking voters to take away the governor’s power to unilaterally spend federal money, a reaction to the billions of dollars that flowed into the state during the COVID-19 pandemic. Democratic Gov. Tony Evers was free to spend that money as he pleased, angering Republicans who wanted the Legislature to have oversight. That's what would happen under a pair of related constitutional amendments up for voter approval in the Aug. 13 primary election. The changes would apply to Evers and all future governors and cover any federal money to the state that comes without specific spending requirements, often in response to disasters or other emergencies.

WAUSAU - Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff made his first visit to Wisconsin on Friday his first major campaign visit to Wisconsin.  Emhoff visited the Hmong Wausau Festival on Saturday, participating in a ceremony before addressing the crowd about the election.  Vice President Kamala Harris, is expected to be the Democratic nominee after picking up key endorsements, including from Gov. Tony Evers and Sen. Tammy Baldwin.
